At least I found them...

___
So, my mission to get some good bat pictures has not been accomplished. Anyway, when I remembered seeing the rare white coloured Asian Toad here before, I decided to go in search of it. But unfortunately, I only found the usual brown ones. I took a couple of shots of them. Their eyes seemed to glow black...

They all look the same.

Bats

___

Bats are one of the most interesting mammals, due to their ability to fly. In Singapore, Bats may not be seen very often, due to their nocturnal behaviour. Some are herbivorous, feeding only on fruits and nectar, whereas others feed on fish, insects and other invertebrates.

So far, I have only managed to find one Bat roost in Singapore. That is a in a large hole in a big canal near my old house. They can be seen flying out of the hole in hundreds. They can often be seen catching insects and small fish from the surface of the water in the canal.

Since I do not have any pictures of them, I decided to visit there again, this time, with my camera, to get as many shots of these bats. My goal was to capture a shot of a bat scooping insects or fish from the water.

_______________
But Unfortunately, These bats could fly extremely fast, and I did not even manage to get a single shot of the bats. I took a video, but even in there, these bats are tiny dots.

Here are 2 pictures with the bats flying. The pictures are very blur. Those circled are actually Bats!

To view the video I took of the Bats, follow THIS LINK. It will take you to the Youtube Video.

House Flies are not so Ugly

___
For most of us, House Flies may be ugly creatures. Of course, their habits may seem quite ugly. But take a close look at these pictures I took while hunting below my block. They don't look that ugly, do they?

Giant Grasshoppers in your Backyard!

__
I was heading back home when I spotted to big eyes looking at me on a small plant beside. My initial thought was that it was a Housefly, but upon taking a closer look, I realised that it was actually a big Grasshopper.
When I started to take my first few photographs, I found another one just behind me. In the end, I managed to find not one, not two, not three, but four of these Grasshoppers. One was a juvenile, about a centimetre long. The rest were large adults.

The Juvenile was very tiny compared to the adults. Maybe it was just a hatchling.

Snails

_
I thought of going down to see if there was any wildlife around my block. I took along my camera for some macro-shots. I passed by a few many small garden snails, as they came out after the rain. I was focused. I took a few close-up pictures of them and went looking for some more interesting creatures.

I later found an insect that looks like an ant with wings. It should be called, 'Flying Ant'.

Qin Hu Fish Farm (Photo Gallery)

-
I was feeling bored at home. I decided to visit Qin Hu Fish Farm. I reached there within a an hour with my cousin who came with me. Unlike other Fish Farms, this one sells Aquarium fish, not Edible Fish. I captured as many photographs as possible. I liked those Rainbow Crabs most. Reminded me of my old pet Rainbow Crab who is now in Formalid.
This post is full of photos. Please click and view them if you wish to.
