A very commonly seen ant in Forested areas, the Giant Forest Ant is only found in Forests. I have seen a couple of them in groups but I have never seen one this big. Its head was bigger than the usual ones. Maybe it was a Soldier Ant. Zoom in to the 1st picture to compare its size with another ant beside.
