Big Catch

This huge rat was caught in one of the rat traps that we often set up in the fields just before sundown. This one here is known as a Pig Rat, mainly due to its size and look. These rodents can be a real nuisance as they can feed on and spoil a large amount of crops like potato, tapioca etc. My dogs couldn't wait to get it released. They're experts at catching rats and usually catch about 3-4 such rats a week.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the info. You should be right since I simply named it 'pig rat' because thats what the people here call it.

Hi Adrielle!
Haha, I'm overjoyed too by the fact that I can start blogging again! Couple more blog posts coming right up. ;)

WOW the dogs EAT frogs? That sure is gross. My black dog once bit a toad and had foam coming out of her mouth. She hence learnt her lesson and doesn't provoke them now.

Wish you a great weekend too!!!
