An Emerald Dove in the Undergrowth

Heard the rustling of dead leaves in the undergrowth beside the main road. I knew it was some sort of animal, and then found out it was an Emerald Dove. It was pretty close to me so I tried to adjust the focus ring and snapped a few decent shots.

It then walks away from us and into the forest.

Nice catch, these birds seem to be quite shy. My grandmother used to tell me about how these were once common birds but they kept flying straight into the walls of buildings!

Hi Tom,

Wow, its the first time hearing birds flying into buildings! How sad. Its great to have such beautiful birds around isn't it? I always treasure the moments in india, which is unlike S'pore's city life.
