Here are a pair of insects, a Bush Brown Butterfly and a Pied Paddy Skimmer, both found during the 'forest' walk. The first time I shot each of them, I noticed that it looked pretty dark, so I thought I should turn on the flash. I took two shots of each insect, at almost the same position. Here's the Bush Brown Dragonfly. Without flash:

Do you ever use any kind of photo editing program? I use a very basic, and inexpensive program, (Arcsoft Photostudio Expressions). It makes adjusting the photo's brightness and contrast, very simple. That way you can use your flash without worrying about washing out the photo.
Hi John,
No, I don't edit my photos in any way, except that I crop the photos a little. I am not really aware of such programmes and hence don't use any. Anyway, Thanks for your suggestion. I guess I'll think about it.
