St. Andrew's Cross Spiders are common in sub-urban and rural areas of India. There used to be mnay more before but now there are fewer and fewer of these beautiful spiders mainly due to habitat loss. I spotted one on its web in my balcony one morning.

It seemed to be a new resident as it was not there the previous morning. Probably taking up residence in this balcony since there is shelter and less noise and people. Here's a side-shot.

And as I was looking around in my backyard I spotted one of these tiny spiders. Taking a closer look I realized that it is a young St. Andrew's Cross Spider too.
