Dragonfly In Flight

After having done with the Blue Sprite, I slowly walked along the stream looking for more creatures. There were a few small Black-Tipped Forest Glories but they were too quick as usual so I didn't manage to photograph them. But then I noticed a large dragonfly hovering lowly above the water. I tried taking some shots but my camera focused on the water. Luckily the dragonfly stood still in the air as I moved closer, and I managed to take a few shots of it in mid-air!

It would touch the water surface and then back above the water. I took another shot as it came right before me. It was just a few inches from my toes!

And as it moved on I took another shot. This time I could not get the full-body.

These were one of my most lucky shots ever taken. Please view the images on large as they will look much better.

Gosh! Those photos are just awesome! Well Done Shawn! It's really hard to get shots of dragonflies in flight with a point and shoot.

Hey Shawn, I just found one of those at the new dairy farm nature park! Do you know its ID?
