Masters of Camouflage

It was still Day 3 afternoon and I was in a great mood having spotted the snake at my neighbour's house. But that was not all. There was something else awaiting for me. They are masters of camouflage, and are extreme ambush predators. It was a well hidden Praying Mantis.
I was just walking slowly along the Jackfruit tree when I observed a slight movement beside me. I looked aside. The Praying Mantis was rather hard to find. Its colours where very much similar to that of the surface of the tree it was on. A little bit of white, a little bit of light and dark green here and there. But the most interesting part of the Mantis was its eyes. They had the same colour of the body.

It was a beautiful mantis though, as the colours were everywhere. It had the same colour on every part of its body, including its legs. Here are a few more pictures of the beautiful Mantis.

At first I thought that this was a rare find, but I later realized that Mantises are one of the most common Creatures here. They vary. From Sticks to Dead Leafs to Flowers to Giants.

Here's a closer look at that beautiful eye of the Mantis. Remarkable isn't it? One way to show how beautiful Mother Nature is.

How interesting that we both used the same title. Both insects are formidable indeed.
